Here in the studio, we’re currently working our way through the Fifty Years Trailer for The Day of the Doctor, seeing how many things we can spot. You can play this game at home too, so let’s get started, shall we?
We start off in B&W with “authentic” film damage and the Policeman from An Unearthly Child, the first person we ever saw in the show, fifty years ago…
…and in through the doors of the junkyard where it all began…
[wonder if any of this was scanned from the set of An Adventure In Space And Time?]
…and into the junkyard itself, just before we move into colour. That’s a fez just by the door btw… this is where the visuals really kick in, with loads of things to spot, so here goes!
Well, that’s as many as I can spot. There are a couple of questions though…
who or what is the bloke approaching David with his back to us?
it looks like there’s a woman with long hair behind Eccles but you can’t see who it is…
why is Matt standing on top of what looks like a broken down cross between The Face of Evil and Mount Rushmore?
what is the significance of 17162311 aside from being the start time and date of the first transmitted episode?
oh yeah, and what does “No More” mean????
UPDATE: they’ve listed 11 over at doctor who dot tv – pleased to say we spotted them all, yay! Go Whopix!
UPDATE 2: here’s an analysis by the ever brilliant Combom with a few that Whopix missed!
