Dr Who’s Toy Tardis

SPOILER ALERT! If you’re the kind of person who likes to avoid spoilers, then leave now!

LOVE the pics that are going around just now of the shrinking Tardis, in a story that also features the Danny Pink character, as well as something going haywire with the Dr’s missus…

Two smaller versions of the Tardis have been snapped recently during filming alongside the full size prop. One is a sort of half-size version -

- a bit like the one you can get from This Planet Earth, only a bit better I think. Now what fan wouldn’t want one of these, if they were and I could yes I would. Another merchandising op for the Beeb. Kerching!

No idea what’s going on in the story with the Tardis’ dimensions, and we have seen this sort of thing before, first in Planet of Giants, then in The Time Meddler and Logopolis, but I reckon it might be something to do with Clara. The missus doesn’t like her, that much we know but maybe it’s to do with more than Trenzalore and this is part of it. Whatever the explanation, the best thing about all of this is that the Tardis shrinks down to tiny size -

- which is a great idea as it means every kid who has a toy Tardis on their shelf can finally get to look at it and think, maybe that is the real Tardis that’s got shrunk and it’s not a toy at all. Now come on, be honest, who among us hasn’t thought that at some point or another. I certainly have, and it’s clear that The Moff has nicked my “The Toy Tardis” story idea!
