ANIMATED SHADA CONFIRMED!

Looks like Whoflix has yet another version of this story to Fan Edit! Let’s just hope the animators have learned the lessons of Power of the Daleks!

You can view our Fan Edit of the surviving bits of the story HERE!

As far as the VAM is concerned the only thing that’s new to this release is the Studio Sessions, which hopefully will include Tom’s bleeped out swearing…

I dunno about you but Whopix will be buying the £20 DVD rather than the £40 steelbook!

BLOOPERS! – Underworld

Over at Whoflix, we’ve just uploaded our latest Fan Edit, the dodgy CSO-fest that is Dr Who In Some Caves. So what better time to have a look at the bloopers in the story, although in some ways the production itself is the biggest blooper of the lot!

Even though the CSO screen for the story is blue, for some reason they put a green background in some shots instead of the space whirlpool, like this one..underworld blooper 2

Only to put the space whirlpool in others, like this one!underworld blooper 2.1

Looks like amongst all the other gifts the Time Lords gave the Minions was the gift of Blu-tack to help keep their microphones in place…underworld blooper 3

There’s that green background again! Where has the space whirlpool gone?underworld blooper 5

Who’s this then? Is he a member of the Minion Crew we never get to meet? Or is he some BBC bod who’s just got himself in shot!underworld blooper 8

The Five Doctors Telecomic #2

doctor who five doctors comic strip tom baker 1.03

Unlike the TV original, in this version Doctor Tom gets timescooped after the events of Nightmare of Eden. Why? Well, there are sound storytelling reasons for doing something different, which will become clear as the strip continues. But apart from anything else, we’re all so familiar with the story that I didn’t see the point in doing a “what if Borusa hadn’t botched it?” version. I wanted to do something different enough to warrant people looking at it!

The Five Doctors Telecomic #1

PANEL 1:  New Series Gallifrey plus Classic Series Dark Tower. Had to be done.

PANEL 5:  Slight updates to the shots of Troughton and Pertwee, and Bill added to make up the trio.

PANEL 6:  No celery. No question marks. Huge improvement.

A slightly truncated version of the Eye of Orion sequence leads us into Tom’s arrival in the story…

Question One: if we’re going to do a telecomic version of the story, one where Dr Tom is involved, then where does the adventure take place for him? The obvious answer is at the start of Shada, since that’s where he got timescooped from on TV. However, that creates certain logistical problems. For a start it would mean adding Romana II to the story, and we’ll have enough to do adding Tom to the cast.

Question Two:  which version of Tom do we use? Which outfit will he wear? The burgundy one from his last year? The classic Hinchliffe version? Or the parody version with the extra long scarf and the flying ducks?

Answering both those questions led me to only one possible option for where the story takes place for Dr Tom, which in turn answered the question of which outfit he would be wearing…

Continues Tuesday.

Fan Edit Finale!

Whilst everyone else is busy raving, and justifiably so, over the latest announcements from Big Finish – New Series characters plus Classic Doctors? Yeehah! Surely it can’t be long before Capaldi’s predecessors join in too? – over here in our little corner of the Internet we have our own reasons to be cheerful…

Today marks the end of a creative project that has seen me Fan Edit every single Doctor Who story from the Classic Series. All One Hundred And Fifty Six of them, including Tom Baker’s Shada.

It’s taken me six years, but today I’ve finally finished my last Classic Series Doctor Who Fan Edit…

PYRAMIDS CD

Pyramids of Mars has just been uploaded to Whoflix and it’s the final fan edit in a journey that has taken me the best part of six years. But now, at last, the Classic Series is done.

I’m proud to have been the one to pioneer the Fan Editing of Doctor Who, I’m delighted that my work has inspired other Fan Editors, and I’m pleased to have achieved the distinction of being the first fan to fan edit the entire Classic Series. Yay!

Fan Edits now exist for every story from An Unearthly Child to The Parting of The Ways.

Job Done.
